Want to have your female friend sail with you more often?

They why not teach them how to sail or find them lessons? Sailing is a social activity, lets face it, it is no fun alone most times. So many times it is the guy's dream and the women are left out for a variety of reasons (as shown in our poll). Sebago Sailing has adopted an easy method of instruction for women that starts off with The Sailing Wind Wheel. We teach in a clinic - on the boat but not out in the harbor sailing (just yet). It's affordable and supportive and bound to create excitement for sailing. Call or email us at info@sebagosailing.com FMI. 207-647-4400. http://www.sailingwindwheel.com/

Starwind Sailboat

Hi Mike and Mo

Just thought I would let you know another student bought a boat. 1986 starwind 223, mooring it on grand lake. Charlie is still building his, but trying to see how far mine will tip in the mean time. Thanks for the lessons!

NEW SAILING CLINICS FOR WOMEN ONLY! $65

We are now offering women only sailing clinics. Drop us an email for more information. These will be conducted at the marina but we won't sail on our first run through. We'll study the vessels, the wind and sailing concepts.

Our intention is to break down sailing into simple components (port/starboard, sails/wind etc.) BEFORE we go out on the water.

Women across the country have found this new 'learning to sail' method:

Non-threatening
Easy to understand
Supportive
Encouraging

If you want to ease into sailing - this is a great and very affordable way to begin! Give us a call and we'll detail the course for you.

Maine Boats in and Ready for sailing

We've had a few ASA courses all ready this spring/summer and booking more now. Our 14' O'day Javelins are varnished and ready to go and the new sails on the sunfish are rigged and ready for delivery. Now, we need the sun! Good news is the weather this weekend is looking bright and sunny with 'scattered showers' - which could mean nothing at all. Naturally the weathermen/women can't predict anything accurately in Western Maine - the bane of our existence here.

Alas - SAILORS SAIL!

We'll be renting out this vessel for both half day ($150) and full day ($180) bareboat charters. If you want a fun sail on Charlotte Harbor, we have one of the few small boats you can day rent or take it for an overnight if you wish. There is plenty to do and to see. If you love nature, this is absolutely for you!!

Sunset over Pine Island

Truly a remarkable sight. We sailed over to Gasparilla, did a little fishing, caught a couple trout and released them. We are planning a sail to Cayo Costa next week to kick around on the beaches - some of the finest and most private in the world. We have posted a bunch of info on our website (http://www.sailcharlotteharbor.com) to get a feel for what the sailing is like and what to do. Here is a taste....

Cayo Costa State Park
www.floridastateparks.org/cayocosta/default.cfm
With nine miles of beautiful beaches and acres of pine forests, oak-palm hammocks, and mangrove swamps, this barrier island park is a Gulf Coast paradise. The park is accessible only by private boat or ferry. Visitors may see manatees and pods of dolphins in the waters around the park, as well as a spectacular assortment of birds. On the island, visitors can swim or snorkel in the surf, enjoy the sun.

Sebago Sailing opens new location in Bokeelia Florida

We'll now be sailing out of Jug Creek on Pine Island Florida aboard our Catalina 22'. The sailing in Charlotte Harbor ranks among the 10 best places to sail according to Sail Magazine.
